Premiership Predictions

Saturday, 14 March 2009
Arsenal v Blackburn, 15:00
Wenger faces his old nemesis Sam Allardyce who often derail Arsenal when he was in charge of Bolton. Arsenal might be tired after a long game in the Champions League on Wednesday so this could be a tough battle for them. However, I feel they'll have the strength to win.
2-1

Bolton v Fulham, 15:00
It's really hard to predict Fulham and Bolton. They're both as good and as bad as each other. That's to say they either team can get a respectable result only to humiliate themselves the following week. Therefore, bore draw.
0-0

Everton v Stoke, 15:00
Everton keep marching on and shouldn't have much trouble overcoming Stoke.
2-0

Hull v Newcastle, 15:00
Newcastle have Michael Owen in contention for the game. He alone can't cover the enormous cracks in the Newcastle side but he has a habit of coming back from injury and scoring goals.
0-1

Man Utd v Liverpool, 12:45
Can only go with a result I'd like to see but this is far from a prediction. Benitez is yet to win at Old Trafford but there's a first time for everything.
1-2

Middlesbrough v Portsmouth, 15:00
Surely, the most thrilling encounter of the weekend, no? I successfully predicted a thrashing for Boro two weeks ago so I'm going to say that following that embarrassment they will win here.
2-0

Sunderland v Wigan, 15:00
Sunderland look an OK side under Spragia. Wigan are pretty steady but not infallible.
2-1

Sunday, 15 March 2009
Aston Villa v Tottenham, 16:00

Whilst still in fourth place this is surely as test of nerve for Villa as they have Arsenal biting at their tail. Spurs would love to help Villa in that sense but need to climb up the table themselves.
2-1

Chelsea v Man City, 13:30
Roman Abramovic's financial clout has diminished as a result of the global recession but his side have a restored vitality following the appointment of Guus Hiddink as caretaker manager. City now have much more wealth at their disposal but they don't have the players to take on Chelsea.
2-0

Monday, 16 March 2009
West Ham v West Brom, 20:00
The Baggies are rubbish away from home but these Monday night fixtures tend to be uneventful.
0-0
